Homeworld ’81 was a housing exhibition held in Bradwell Common, Milton Keynes, a new home community being developed at the time. This exhibition was the brainstorm of David F. Parker who had been sought as a consultant to Milton Keynes in hopes that he might bring some new innovative thinking to the project. The idea was to demonstrate new trends and technologies in housing as well as put on display the possibilities of new housing at the time. 40 years later (in 2021), this video was created by the Milton Keynes Living Archive Project to remember the exhibition which was organized by the Milton Keynes Development Corporation to showcase 36 houses from a variety of international builders. This exhibition attracted 150,000 visitors in that initial effort and this film tells the story of the exhibition by those who were there with a nod to David F. Parker in the 8th minute by colleague Lee Shostak. Enjoy this flashback.
